2020 BMW 3 Series Review
BMW of Stratham is proud to introduce you to the 2020 BMW 3 Series. This luxury sports sedan is as fun to drive as ever, thanks to a combination of sporty performance features, premium amenities, and high-tech systems.
Before taking this car for a test drive around Stratham, Portsmouth, and Exeter, see what it has to offer in this 2020 BMW 3 Series review.
The 2020 BMW 3 Series 330i comes standard with a 2.0L TwinPower Turbo I-4. This dynamic engine offers 255 horsepower, allowing rear-wheel drive models to go from 0 to 60 MPH in 5.6 seconds. If you opt for xDrive, the intelligent all-wheel drivetrain from BMW, that acceleration time decreases to 5.3 seconds.
When you’re shopping for a sporty sedan, though, you might as well go big or go home. M340i models offer more power, thanks to their 3.0L TwinPower Turbo inline 6-cylinder engines. These 382 horsepower motors will take you from 0 to 60 MPH in 4.1 seconds when equipped with xDrive.
Both engines use twin-scroll turbochargers, so you get that turbo boost practically as soon as you put the pedal to the metal. M340i models also get an upgraded sport differential, suspension, and brakes.
This sporty sedan is built low to the ground, which keeps it both aerodynamic and agile. It’s also available in colors that range from traditional to modern. Some notable paint choices include:
- Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic, a light blue-green
- Vermont Bronze Metallic, a shiny yet earthy bronze
- Sunset Orange Metallic, a bold yet sophisticated warm tone
Inside, the seats come standard with SensaTec leatherette upholstery. This isn’t your mother’s vinyl seating: It’s so high-tech, your passengers won’t know it’s not leather. If you want the real deal, though, a supple Vernasca Leather is also available on certain models.
The BMW 3 Series comes standard with 3-Zone Climate Control, so you and your passengers can all stay comfortable no matter what your preferences are. Also standard are 14-way power front sport seats. Control everything, from the height and position of your seat to the lumbar support, side bolsters, headrests, and thigh support.
Your safety is important. That’s why the 2020 BMW 3 Series comes standard with Active Guard, a series of features that can help detect and avoid potential collisions. This bundle includes Frontal Collision Warning, Automatic City Collision Mitigation, and Lane Departure Warning.
As fun as this sedan is to drive, sometimes you just want to sit back and relax—especially if you’ll be on the highway for a while. For those times, you’ll want to opt for Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go.
On the open highway, this feature keeps you at your preferred speed. If you get stuck behind slower traffic, your car will slow down to keep a safe distance. It can even bring you to a full stop if needed. Then, once the traffic starts to clear, you’ll automatically start to speed up again—no action needed on your part.
