2019 BMW 530i
The first BMW 5 Series trim level is the 530i. This one comes with a 2.0L TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine that delivers 248 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
In addition to producing ample power, the engine is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic sport automatic transmission. This component provides seamless shifting, with paddle shifters to help you feel more connected to the road.
Inside the vehicle is lots of room for five people, with 41.4 inches of front legroom and 36.5 inches of rear legroom. Plus, you’ll find 40/20/40 split-folding rear seats—making it easy to fit as many people and cargo as you’d like.
530i xDrive
Next up is the 2019 530i xDrive. It offers the same performance specs as the previously mentioned trim. However, this one comes in xDrive all-wheel drive. The system continuously monitors road conditions for your protection. If it senses excess slip, it’ll redistribute power to help you stay in control.
Like the base trim, though, this one has SensaTec upholstery inside the cabin. Add on an Anthracite headliner and Fineline Ridge Wood interior trim, and you have a truly refined-looking interior.
Plus, you get to enjoy 16-way power front sport seats with 4-way lumbar support. Not only will it be easy to find your ideal position behind the wheel, but the memory function lets you save your settings for future use.
BMW 530e
The 2019 BMW 530e is the vehicle’s plug-in hybrid trim. It comes with a 2.0L TwinPower Turbo 4-cylinder engine plus an AC Synchronous Electric Motor. Together, they deliver 248 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque.
This trim also features an eDrive button with different modes:
- AUTO eDrive: The engine and electric motor interact to optimum effect in any driving situation.
- MAX eDrive: Drives on electric power alone.
- Battery Control: Lets you manually set the charge level for the 90 kWh lithium-ion battery.
No matter which mode you choose, you’ll get to enjoy nice long drives around town.
530e xDrive
Then there’s the 530e xDrive, which adds all-wheel drive onto the performance specs mentioned for the 530e.
Additionally, you’ll have lots of cutting-edge technologies to utilize. This includes a 1-year trial to Apple CarPlay™. With this feature, you can access podcasts, text messages, and more through the vehicle’s 10.2-inch high-resolution touchscreen—so you don’t need to mess with your phone while driving.
Also found on the large touchscreen is the BMW Navigation system. It provides clear 3D maps of your route, with Over-the-Air updates for the most current directions possible.
2019 540i
You then have the 2019 BMW 540i, with now different performance specs. This trim comes with a 3.0L TwinPower Turbo 6-cylinder engine that churns out 335 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque.
The seating is now made from Dakota Leather, which looks luxurious and is very soft to the touch. Plus, you can get heated front seats, assuring you stay cozy on even the coldest nights.
As far as technology goes, you have HD Radioâ„¢ to take advantage of. This feature gives you clearer reception of your favorite AM/FM stations. Plus, it gives you even more stations to listen to, which you can hear nicely through the 12-speaker HiFi Sound System.
540i xDrive
The 540i xDrive is very similar to the 540i. However, while the previously mentioned trim goes from 0-60 MPH in 4.9 seconds, this one does it in 4.7.
However, like all the other trim levels, the 540i xDrive comes with Driving Dynamics Control. With ECO PRO, COMFORT, and SPORT modes, you can fully customize how your time is spent on the road.
Also like the above trims, this one has an Active Driving Assistant. It gives you lots of driver-assisting technologies for your peace of mind. With features like Lane Departure Warning and Frontal Collision Warning with City Collision Mitigation, the vehicle can help you avoid getting into an accident.
2019 BMW M550i xDrive
Finally, you have the 2019 M550i xDrive. This is the only trim to come with a 4.4L BMW M Performance TwinPower Turbo V8 engine. It produces an impressive 455 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. Plus, it helps the automobile go from 0-60 MPH in just 3.9 seconds.
The outside of this trim looks a bit different, as well. It has a distinct M Sport body style, with LED fog lights and a Shadowline exterior trim. It also has Cerium Gray accent finishers, to really make it stand out on the road.
Inside the cabin, you still have Dakota Leather upholstery. However, you now have an Aluminum Rhombicle interior trim. You also have 20-way power multi-contour front seats. As a result, getting comfy inside the vehicle is easier than ever.
