friends in carWhen it comes to interior space, the 2019 BMW X1 and 2019 Lexus NX certainly deliver. After all, both SUVs can comfortably seat five, giving each person plenty of room to stretch out.

However, taller passengers may appreciate the X1 interior dimensions, especially in the back. You’ll have 39.4 inches of rear headroom and 37 inches of rear legroom. In the NX, you get just 38 inches of rear headroom and 36.1 inches of rear legroom.

You’ll also find more cargo room inside the BMW model. When the rear seats are up, there’s 27.1 cubic feet of space. Fold that row down, and you get 58.7 cubic feet of room.

Compare that to the Lexus model, with 17.7 cubic feet with the rear row up and 54.5 cubic feet of cargo room with the rear row down. So, you’ll find more space in the X1 for your work commutes, errands, and other adventures.

Features Inside the BMW vs Lexus SUVs

There are also plenty of technologies to help keep you connected and entertained. The X1, for example, comes standard with an iDrive infotainment system, which includes Apple CarPlay™. After you plug your phone into the vehicle’s USB port, you can perform simple tasks, like sending text messages and pulling up directions without needing to mess with your phone while driving.

Additionally, many people believe the iDrive system is quite easy to use. It’s operated by a knob on the gear shift as well as a tablet-like touchscreen at the top of the control panel. Plus, the rotary knob itself recognizes handwriting, so you can “write” letters and numbers to enter in addresses quickly into the standard navigation system.

The NX comes standard with Apple CarPlay®, too. However, its Enform infotainment system isn’t as intuitive as iDrive. Plus, many believe the Remote Touch Controller is difficult to manage. There are conventional knobs and buttons, but many are tucked low on the dashboard, making it a bit of an inconvenience to access.
