At this year’s New York International Auto Show, which takes place in mid-April, BMW will showcase its most recent model roster — including the family of iPerformance plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.

BMW iPerformance vehicles take the eDrive technology thats used in BMW i (the BMW brand that places an emphasis on sustainable vehicle technologies and concepts) and employ it to the companys core vehicles through battery cells, electric motors and electronic control systems.

iPerformance vehicles that will be displayed at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in Manhattan include:

  • The flagship BMW 740e xDrive iPerformance sedan, which marries the comfort of a BMW 7 Series with the multiple benefits of electric emissions-free mobility.
  • The BMW 530e iPerformance sedan, the newest member of the plug-in hybrid iPerformance vehicle family, which pairs an eDrive electric drive concept to a 4-cylinder gas engine.
  • The BMW X5 xDrive40e I Performance Sport Activity Vehicle, the company’s first plug-in hybrid, unites a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine with a lithium-ion battery-powered electric motor.
  • The BMW 330e iPerformance teams an electric motor with the BMW TwinPower Turbo inline 4-cylinder engine to produce a total combined 248 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
