April 10th, 2017 by

Recently, BMW Group U.S. announced sales results for the month of March 2017, registering a 3.3 percent increase over March 2016 sales. BMW has sold 71,682 vehicles through the first three months of the year, an improvement of 1.5 percent over the 70,613 vehicles sold during the same time frame in 2016.

The luxurious BMW 7 Series noted 10 percent growth, while continuing demand for BMW SUVs helped the segment deliver a 30.8 percent increase over sales from last March. These new vehicle sales results are clearly helped by the performance of the BMW X3 (up 42.9 percent) and the BMW X5 (plus 35.4 percent).

BMW Certified Pre-Owned vehicles registered a 24.2 percent gain in March, helping drive total BMW Pre-Owned sales to a 34.3 percent increase. With three months of results tallied, total BMW Pre-Owned vehicle sales in 2017 so far are up 34.3 percent over the same period from 2016.

Bernhard Kuhnt, President and CEO, BMW of North America, stated in a press release, With the arrival of Spring, thoughts naturally turn to new cars and March gave us a nice boost as our Sports Activity Vehicles, the X3 and X5 in particular, continue to drive the growing demand. Our new BMW 5 Series is just breaking into what is a difficult market for sedans but orders are solid and with two more variants on their way, we are optimistic for the months ahead.
